New Resources at the Centre

Recently the community has been growing to push the centre forward. We have continued our newly established programs to teach English as well as educate the community on hygiene and HIV/AIDS awareness.  All of these taking places in the new room which was completed this past March with the help of our volunteers and our much needed donors from around the world. It is now being used to its greatest potential. These sessions have been full almost every time they been held which shows this communities desire to learn. It has been hard to work past some of the difficulties in the past few months, but the youth of the community has been able to rise up in the place the both Brent and Kris’ departure at the end of March. At the end of May the library participated in a regional meeting with the Ugandan Community Library Association in an effort to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of services offered. The Nambi Sseppuuya Community Resource Centre was able to display it newly established computer system which had been purchased with great sacrifice from the community.  The progress that the community has shown in the past few months shows great promise for the potential of the centre. We are extremely encouraged with all the exciting and productive events happening in the community and hope that this enthusiasm will continue into the coming months.
